Amazon Influencer

We’re on YouTube now

Dark Mode

If you’ve been coming to Thursday Office Hours in the Wayward Creator Community for the last year, consider this your official “we moved the living room furniture” announcement: Office Hours are now live on YouTube for the foreseeable future. The goal is simple—make it easier for more creators to show up, catch replays, and keep the conversation flowing.

Same schedule: Thursdays at 11:00 AM Central.
Same vibe: weather first (always).
Same purpose: talk Amazon Influencer, product-focused content, Creator Connections, tools, and whatever Amazon chaos is unfolding this week.

And if you’re new here: welcome. Office Hours has been running consistently since June 2023, and it’s designed to be the place where you can ask real questions, compare notes with other creators, and walk away with something actionable.

Quick community announcements you don’t want to miss

Back-to-back Thursdays with Kathleen Kobel

Right after Fluencer Fruit Office Hours, Kathleen Kobel now goes live at 12:00 PM Central—so you can basically treat Thursdays as a two-hour “power block” for Amazon Influencer learning.

Special event: Thursday, February 5

Mark it: February 5 will be a 2-hour combined livestream with Kathleen + Liz (Fluencer Fruit), streaming to both channels. Expect:

  • Amazon Influencer program updates
  • Fluencer Fruit talk + workflow strategy
  • Q&A (bring the messy questions)

Platform shiny objects: Lemon8 (and why the answer is “not right now”)

A question that comes up constantly lately: “Should I be on [insert new platform]?” This week it was Lemon8 (often described as a TikTok-adjacent platform, with cross-posting/visibility ties).

The honest take from Office Hours:

  • Lemon8 exists. People are posting there.
  • No one’s screaming “I’m making a ton of money there” (at least not in this conversation).
  • It doesn’t appear to have the same “shop” mechanics that make TikTok compelling for product creators.
  • So the practical approach is: don’t invest precious time manually building it right now—but if you can repurpose content automatically, great. Low lift = fine. High lift = probably not.

The bigger theme: opportunity FOMO is real. If you’re already juggling storefront uploads, CC campaigns, video production, and reporting, the best strategy is usually to double down on what’s paying and keep new platforms in the “optional repurpose” bucket.

A “hidden” setting that’s confusing people: the search results toggle

If you’ve ever thought:

“I can see the dropdown, but the extension isn’t showing on search results pages…”

There’s now a toggle that controls whether Fluencer Fruit displays on the search results page (to save screen real estate).

Quick fix:

  • Look for the on/off toggle and make sure it’s set ON (circle in the “on” position).
  • Also check the gear icon (settings) where you can turn Fluencer Fruit on/off for different page areas.

“Total Influencer” update: customer reviews should no longer be included

Good news: there was a fix pushed for “Total Influencer,” because early versions were accidentally pulling customer review videos in addition to influencer videos.

We shared that the database was scrubbed, so Total Influencer should now reflect creator videos only.

If you still see customer reviews being counted as creators: report it—this is one of those “should be fixed, but we need edge cases” situations.

Creator Connections reporting delays: “cattywampus” but probably temporary

A bunch of creators saw Creator Connections reporting being:

  • delayed until late afternoon
  • missing for a day (ex: 1/20)
  • suddenly updating during Office Hours

The takeaway provided some perspective:

  • Amazon reporting systems can roll out updates in waves (not everyone sees updates at the same time)
  • Delays sometimes happen around infrastructure changes
  • Historically, most missing data eventually backfills (with rare exceptions)

So: watch it, screenshot anomalies, but don’t spiral. (Easier said than done, I know.)

International is popping again—especially Australia

If you’ve been ignoring international uploads, Australia is officially back in the group chat.

The most important strategic note:

Even if you don’t plan to go hard internationally right now, it may be worth signing up for international storefront access early, because Amazon sometimes gates access later.

Is it worth the time?

It depends on your workflow:

  • If you have thousands of videos and you’re doing it manually: it’s a project.
  • If you can offload to a VA, batch it with a movie night, or use a system: it can be meaningful “found money.”

One creator shared a real benchmark: ~750 videos uploaded to Canada/UK and earning ~$100/month so far—not life-changing, but absolutely worth it for many people.

Fastest way to check if a product exists in other countries

Geniuslink was named as the go-to method: drop in a product link/ASIN, and it will show which geos have matches.

Upload pacing tip

A creator shared they upload ~20/day to avoid triggering “moving too fast” issues.

Automation dreams (and a real-ish workaround)

A recurring wish:

“Please someone build the tool that posts my Amazon videos to YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, etc. with one click.”

We’re not fully there because Amazon doesn’t provide a real API for this workflow—but there’s a “close enough” workaround creators are using:

Download data from Creator Hub → Airtable → Zapier/Make → distribute content elsewhere
(Shoutout to Lane, who was mentioned as having a system that kicks this off.)

Translation: the fully automated dream is not quite here, but you can build a pipeline that reduces the friction massively.

Wrap-up + what to do next

If you’re taking action after this recap, here are your best next steps:

  1. If Fluencer Fruit is showing weird placement or CC filter issues:
Send a screenshot or quick screen recording so the dev team can reproduce it.
  2. Check your toggle settings
If you “lost” the extension on search results, you may just have it toggled off.
  3. Consider grabbing international access now
Even if you don’t upload today, early access can matter later.
  4. Pick one international geo to test (Canada/UK/Australia)
Track earnings for 30 days, then decide if it’s worth scaling.
  5. If you’re overwhelmed by platforms:
Repurpose automatically where possible; don’t manually chase every shiny object.

And we’ll see you next Thursday—January 29 at 11:00 AM Central—right here on YouTube.
