Fluencer Fruit Office Hours Recap: Creator Connections Fixes, Pinterest for AIP, and Storefront “Disappearing” Issues

Dark Mode

What we covered in this week’s Office Hours

This one had a little bit of everything: Creator Connections updates, YouTube strategy, and a really important reminder about keeping your Amazon back-end traffic sources up to date.

If you’re building a product-focused content engine across Amazon, YouTube, TikTok, IG, Pinterest, and beyond, this recap will save you time and help you avoid a couple of common “oops” moments.

Quick community hello

If you’re new here: Office Hours happen every Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Central on the Fluencer Fruit YouTube channel, with a mix of trending topics, Wayward Creator community questions, and whatever rabbit hole the chat leads us down.

TikTok Shop orders “shipped by Amazon”: what’s going on?

A question came up that a lot of people have noticed lately: TikTok Shop orders showing as fulfilled by Amazon (FBA).

Here are the likely explanations:

  • A real integration or program (possible, even if we don’t have formal details yet).
  • Multi-Channel Fulfillment (MCF): sellers using their Amazon fulfillment network to ship orders placed elsewhere.
  • Arbitrage behavior: the seller sources the item through another marketplace and has it shipped to the buyer.

Bottom line: it’s not unheard of, and multiple people in chat confirmed they’ve received TikTok Shop items fulfilled by Amazon.

Creator Connections filters: accuracy improvements and timeline

A big Fluencer Fruit topic this week was Creator Connections filter accuracy.

What we know:

  • Some “weird” results come from how Creator Connections handles listings with missing or new data.
  • A key tip: if you’re filtering by number of influencers/creators, make sure you’re using a minimum AND a maximum (example: 0–1). If you only set a maximum, listings with “no data” can sneak into results.

If you’re seeing mismatches, please send us screenshots/examples so engineering can capture all edge cases.

Why Creator Connections numbers don’t always match the product page

This came up directly: Creator Connections might show one set of numbers (sales or influencer videos), while the product page shows another.

We explained this as a data freshness / volume issue:

  • Product pages are “live pull” data.
  • Creator Connections data is being pulled from stored data (a “data lake”) so the system isn’t trying to process hundreds of thousands of campaigns in real time.

What they’re working on: narrowing the refresh gap so the stored data updates more frequently.

Horizontal video looks blurred on the sides (CapCut fix)

If you’re uploading horizontal and seeing blurred sidebars with the image centered, the likely culprit is an aspect ratio/export setting in your editor.

For CapCut specifically: there’s a ratio option you can change to match your intended output.

YouTube update: go support Doug (and why this matters for product creators)

Liz highlighted Doug’s new YouTube channel, Review Business Academy, focused specifically on product-focused content on YouTube (not generic “be a YouTuber” advice).

Doug shared a few key points:

  • He’s covering how to identify a successful video “formula” and repeat it.
  • Shorts are becoming more searchable, and he’s using shorts to funnel viewers into long-form content.
  • Strategy note: many channels show something like 3 long-form videos and 5 shorts, which creates lots of short-form exposure.

Also mentioned: Doug has a course coming soon and is offering a free 15-minute channel review for people who join the waitlist (availability may change).

Calendar + upcoming lives

Here’s the schedule Liz shared:

  • No Office Hours next Thursday (the 26th)
  • Tuesday the 24th: Claire + Nicole are doing an Amazon Influencer strategy chat on the channel (11:00 a.m. Central)
  • March 5: Lane is joining Office Hours to talk about automating your processes (he’s known for very impressive automation workflows).

Pinterest is now an Amazon Influencer application option

This is a big ecosystem shift: Pinterest is now listed as a platform you can use when applying to the Amazon Influencer Program (alongside Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok).

There was also mention of a Pinterest + Amazon webinar recap posted by Ileane in the Wayward Creator community (worth reading if you missed the live event).

Storefront “disappeared” discussion: the most common causes

This section is worth reading twice because it can save you a major headache.

1) Associates vs Influencer accounts are separate

If someone is worried their storefront vanished because they didn’t hit the “first 3 sales” requirement, we clarified:

  • That requirement is tied to Associates, not your Influencer storefront. They are separate programs/accounts.

2) Your approved social must stay public

If you were approved with TikTok (or IG, etc.), that account needs to remain public while you’re in the program. If it goes private, Amazon can take action during audits.

3) Update your “Traffic Sources” in BOTH places (and possibly all geos)

This is the sneaky one: inside the back end, there’s a section where you list your websites/socials (traffic sources).

We emphasized:

  • You must add/update these in both your Associates ID and your Influencer ID.
  • And the open question: you may also need to keep that updated across international geos (worth checking if you operate outside the US).

Our behind-the-scenes AIP test: engagement vs on-site approval

We shared a personal experiment: we created a newer TikTok account, got quick approval into AIP, got Creator Connections within 24 hours, and then had the first set of on-site videos rejected.

Our theory (that we’re testing): sometimes “quality” rejections may correlate more with things like:

  • account age,
  • recent posting consistency,
  • engagement signals,

…not purely the video production quality itself.

We’re planning to try again after building stronger engagement data.

Final reminder

If you’re seeing anything weird in Creator Connections (filters, mismatched stats, campaign data), capture screenshots during your next research session and send them in so the team can squash the edge cases faster.

See you Tuesday (24th) for Claire + Nicole’s strategy chat, and then back next week after the break.
